Light Installation & Performance (2010)

A self-made measuremnet-kit is used to measure the optical qualities of specific locations. The respective locations get locked off to perform the measurement. The performance itself has no practical purpose other than the action itself. While the perfomance is temporary and only visible during the action itself, everything gets captured on film for later documentation. This puts the photograph as stand-alone piece of art in focus of the work.

Places of interest has been locations which were usually hard to access, like inner-city highways and closed-off buildings, or hard to lock off, like crowded public places.

The kit consists of a 5m LED strip taped onto a measuring tape and a warning triangle. The LED was powered by a 12V car battery.
